Ekachai Uekrongtham ( Thaiเอกชัย เอื้อ ครอง ธรรม; Cinese吕 翼 谋) è un regista e regista thailandese.
Biografia
Vive a Singapore , Ekachai è il direttore artistico fondatore di Action Theatre, una compagnia teatrale professionale di Singapore.
Tra le sue produzioni teatrali, notiamo Chang & Eng (basato sulla vita di Chang e Eng Bunker , i famosi fratelli siamesi ) (2000).
Ha debuttato al cinema con Fighting Beauty (meglio conosciuto con il titolo internazionale Beautiful Boxer ), un dramma su un pugile di Muay Thai diventato transgender. Il suo secondo film è Pleasure Factory , sulle prostitute e i loro clienti a Singapore (selezione ufficiale a Cannes nel 2007). Da allora, ha girato The Coffin (2008) (con Ananda Everingham ), Da xi shi (2009) (titolo inglese The Wedding Game o The Wedding of the Year ) e Skin Trade (2015), un film d'azione (con Dolph Lundgren e Tony Jaa ).
Realizza anche serie TV: Halfworlds e The Stranded .
