L' Accademia Pubblica di Belle Arti di Düsseldorf ( Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in tedesco ) è un'Accademia di Belle Arti situata a Düsseldorf , in Germania , ed erede di un lungo passato storico.

Storia

L'accademia è stato creato nel 1773 da Lambert Krahe ( 1710 - 1790 ) al fine di formare pittori , scultori e architetti .

Poiché le collezioni artistiche di Düsseldorf erano state trasferite a Monaco di Baviera in occasione delle guerre napoleoniche ( 1805 / 06 ), il governo prussiano decise nel 1819 , a titolo di risarcimento, di rinominare l'istituzione "Reale Accademia Prussiana di Belle Arti" ( Königlich-Preußische Kunstakademie ). Il suo primo direttore fu Peter von Cornelius fino al 1826 . Seguì Wilhelm von Schadow , sotto la cui direzione l'istituzione ottenne fama internazionale, grazie in particolare alla scuola di Düsseldorf che vi fiorì negli anni '30 dell'Ottocento . La prima pittrice a studiare lì fu Else Sehrig-Vehling nel 1921.
