Jakobus Willem "Co" Rentmeester (anche Ko Rentmeester ), nato il28 febbraio 1936ad Amsterdam , è un vogatore olandese . In seguito è diventato un fotoreporter e ha coperto la guerra del Vietnam tra altri eventi degni di nota.

Biografia e carriera

Rentmeester ha gareggiato per i Paesi Bassi alle Olimpiadi estive del 1960 a Roma . Negli anni '60 si trasferisce negli Stati Uniti e studia fotografia all'Art Center College di Los Angeles .

Dopo aver conseguito il  Bachelor of Arts , ha iniziato la sua carriera come fotografo freelance nel 1965 per Life .

• 1967: World Press Photo of the Year , primo premio
• 1972: World Press Photo, primo premio nella categoria Sport
• 1976: Premio del New York Art Directors Club per il suo saggio fotografico su Thomas Jefferson
• 1979: World Press Photo: secondo premio nella categoria Racconti illustrati a colori
• 1980: Missouri School of Journalism, premio per un saggio sulla US Air Force
• 2001: Premio KLM Paul Huf
