I Meters sono un gruppo americano di funk degli anni '60 e nel 1970 originario di New Orleans in Louisiana .
carriera
Gruppo fondato nel 1965 dal pianista e cantante Art Neville, dal chitarrista Leo Nocentelli, dal bassista George Porter Jr. e dal batterista Joseph "Zigaboo" Modelist.
È questo quartetto che si esibirà Giugno 1973a Parigi, Salle Pleyel e al Montreux Jazz Festival con il Professor Longhair , Allen Toussaint e Dr. John .
Il percussionista e cantante Cyril Neville si unì in seguito al gruppo prima che fosse sciolto nel 1977.
Dal 1989 ad oggi, il gruppo è stato ricreato più volte attorno a George Porter Jr o Art Neville e ai suoi fratelli ( Aaron , Charles o Cyril).
