Biografia

Scrittore delicato e personale e specialista di racconti, Gardner R. Dozois ha vinto il Nebula Award per il miglior romanzo breve in due occasioni: per Appaisement ( The Peacemaker ) nel 1983 e per Enfant du matin ( Morning Child ) nel 1984 . I suoi racconti sono raccolti in The Visible Man ( 1977 ), Geodesic Dreams , Slow Dancing through Time ( 1990 ) o Strange Days ( 2001 ). Ha anche scritto un romanzo da solista, L'Étrangère ( Strangers ) ( 1978 ), e in collaborazione con George Alec Effinger , Poison bleu ( Nightmare Blue ) ( 1975 ).

Ha vinto tredici Hugo Awards come miglior redattore di riviste professionali.

È anche un rinomato antologo. Dopo aver lasciato la rivista Science Fiction di Asimov , ha pubblicato The Year's Best Science Fiction , un'antologia annuale creata nel 1984 . Ha anche pubblicato altre antologie a tema: Cats, Dinosaurs, Seaserpents, Hackers . Nel 2001, il suo amico Michael Swanwick ha pubblicato Being Gardner Dozois , un libro-intervista con Dozois sul suo lavoro.
