Axel Leijonhufvud è un economista svedese nato nel 1933 a Stoccolma , appartenente alla corrente neokeynesiana . Ha la particolarità di unirsi all'approccio della Scuola Austriaca di Economia ( Ludwig von Mises , Friedrich Hayek , Roger Garrison ) nell'ammettere che la mancanza di coordinamento in un'economia è dovuta alla moneta la cui penetrazione nell'economia è direttamente correlata al tasso d'interesse.
